Neuroscientific experience

1999 – present:
Neurovascular research regarding neurogenic CBF regulation in human AVM and in rat AVM models, forming the basis of the PhD- and habilitation programme

2005 – present:
Multiple clinical trials on spinal surgery covering cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral entities with special interest on infections of the spine and robotic technology on the lumbar spine

Surgical experience

Approximately 5000 neurosurgical procedures covering trauma, neurooncology, peripheral nerve and especially degenerative spine.

Current projects and vision

Medicine of the future: Mankind as its own treatment resource: Tissue repair via autologous stem cell therapy to regenerate and/or
replace natural joints, wounds, soft tissue (i.e. after car accidents)

Medico-social projects/hospitals/practices for disadvantaged people and deprived children
